The first high power (5W) RGB Led lamp ready for DMX 512 control that can also be used with a remote control (Pavo 96 DMX controller is necessary for the remote control operation). Unit contained in standard MR16 case.
Everyone who sees it can't believe how bright it is and that the colours are accurate. Note that the white, even close up, is white - not "three color diode" appearance of earlier technology devices.

Could you tell me if it is possible to set the DMX address of the Tristar RGB DMX MR 16 lamp without the PAVO 96 DMX controller?
Could you also tell me which kind of power supply is needed for this lamp? Constant current or constant voltage?
To set the DMX address of the Tristar RGB DMX MR 16 led lamp, PAVO controller and a remote are necessary; you CANNOT do this assignment without using PAVO controller.
The default address (without using PAVO) for the lamp is 001. If it is accepted all RGB DMX led lamps to be set at the same DMX512 address (001) then you won't need Pavo controller.
Concerning required power supply for the RGB DMX512 MR16 Led lamp, you may use constant voltage (Constant current supply is NOT suitable) or just an AC transformer since every RGB Led lamp has its own internal power supply which can work from 9 to 16V AC/DC!

I have a technical question about TRISTAR 5W RGB DMX led lamp and RGB LED Strip; can I control both items using Pavo 96 DMX LED Controller using DMX512?
My idea is to illuminate a hall with both products, TRISTAR RGB and RGB LED strip and control everything by DMX-512 ...
If you already have a DMX512 console that you would like to connect and control both RGB led strips and Tristar 5W lamps then you DON'T need the PAVO 96 DMX led controller.
PAVO 96 DMX led controller is useful in case that you don't have any DMX512 console and you need an easy way to control TRISTAR 5W DMX RGB led lamps.
It is also NECESSARY if you need to modify the Tristar DMX RGB led lamp default DMX address (which is 001).
TRISTAR 5W DMX RGB led lamps can get connected with ANY kind of DMX512 console and will respond from DMX address 001 to 003 (3-Channels) in case you don't use the PAVO to modify the default DMX address of each led lamp.
Concerning controlling of RGB led strips using PAVO DMX controller is NOT possible; RGB led strips could be controlled by any DMX512 console using the DMX 512 RGB Led strip controller:
If you would like as per your email to control both Tristar DMX led lamps and RGB led strip using DMX-512 signal (ANY standart dmx console) then all you need is the DMX 512 RGB Led strip controller (link for that product shown above) and as an option just one PAVO controller for being able to modify the default DMX address of Tristar DMX led lamps.
We are trying to control the mr16 rgb with our dmx console. But when we send it color commands the light goes black. We cannot find what color conmmands are available on your website. We assume 3 dmx channels assigned rgb. When the light comes on it cycles through colors and as soon as we send it a dmx command it goes off.
We have green wire to dmx +, white to DMX - and red to +12 and black to -12. The light has been programmed to address 44 with the pavo and works fine with the pavo.
Seems that connection is fine but please confirm the following:
1. Without to have the DMX512 console connected (please remove the DMX plug) with Tristar, then you should get cycles of colors.
2. When you just connect the DMX plug (and console is powered on) then Tristar goes on Black-out.
3. About Address 44:
If you set ID 44 using Pavo controller then it means that the actual DMX512 channel that Tristar will respond (from your console) will be Address 130
With Pavo you actually set the ID of each Tristar; check example bellow:
ID001= DMX CHANNEL 001, 002, 003 (R,G,B)
ID002= DMX CHANNEL 004, 005, 006 (R,G,B)
ID003= DMX CHANNEL 007, 008, 009 (R,G,B)
ID044= DMX CHANNEL 130, 131, 132 (R=130,G=131,B=132).
HOW TO FIND THE CORRESPONDING DMX CHANNEL FROM THE "ID SETTING" (DONE WITH PAVO CONTROLLER):
44 - 1= 43
43 x 3CH=129 + 1= 130 (START DMX CHANNEL OF "ID44" IS 130)
MAXIMUM ID SETTING FOR ANY LAMP IS ID169 (DMX START CHANNEL 505).
